Trent serves as the VP of Research at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and is responsible for all research projects and products for the organization and its 280,000 members. Prior to SHRM, Trent spent 15 years at Walmart Stores, Inc. leading various corporate HR teams including Change Management, Organizational Design, Reorganizations, Surveys & Analytics, Performance Management, Employment Practices, Selection Strategy, and Executive Development. Trent has led large and complex HR projects in China, India, Japan, Brazil, South Africa, Argentina, Canada, the UK, and the US. Trent also served as a SHRM Certification Commissioner. In this position, Trent served as a chief technical advisor for the development of the SHRM competency model and oversaw the technical aspects of the SHRM certification program.
Trent holds a BA in Psychology and a MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Akron and is SHRM-SCP certified.
