Executive Director; Talent Acquisition & International Mobility; Human Capital at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi
Gavin Walford–Wright is the Executive Director of Talent Acquisition and International Mobility at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD), reporting to the Chief of Human Capital.
An outstanding HR professional and people strategist, Gavin holds more than 15 years of experience and a proven record of success working in a diverse range of commercial market environments including Healthcare, Telecommunications, Financial Services and Retail within different geographies like UK, Middle East, India, Africa and Turkey.
Upon joining CCAD in February 2016, Gavin worked with the Chief of Human Capital to put in a place a robust Human Capital strategy to integrate and align all of the Human Capital functions to work in a more cohesive way and achieve the organizations’ strategic goals. This included transforming the Talent Acquisition and International Mobility (TAIM) teams, to develop a highly-capable, diverse team that manages clinical and non-clinical recruitment and on-boarding and off-boarding for all of the organization. The on-boarding program, which introduces new hires to the organization in a dynamic orientation program, received the Gold Award for the Best New Hire On-boarding Program, awarded by the prestigious Brandon Hall.
In line with the government’s vision for recruiting UAE Nationals, Gavin places Emiratization at the top of his priorities, to ensure that CCAD becomes the leader in employing UAE Nationals within the healthcare industry. Within one year, he successfully led the team to grow the Emirati population at CCAD from 8.4% to 15%, resulting in the team winning the Best Nationalization Initiative 2016 by the HR MENA Excellence Awards, as well as the Emiratization Initiative of the Year 2017 by the Tawdheef Awards.
Prior to joining CCAD, Gavin also successfully implemented a talent technology and analytics program at du, in which he transformed the Talent Acquisition function through the use of technology, by pioneering change and tripled the anticipated cost saving. This decreased the time to hire and increased the quality of hire and internal satisfaction throughout the Company.
Always looking to stay up to date with all the latest market trends, Gavin has completed his Master’s Degree in Strategic Human Resources from Middlesex University in Dubai and is currently a PhD candidate at Middlesex University in London.
